Mahindra
is finally launching the updated version of the XUV300, the XUV 3XO in India. The
XUV 3XO will come with 35 standard safety features, including 6 airbags, disc
brakes for all four wheels, seat belt reminders for all seats, and more. The
XUV 3XO is essentially a heavily revamped version of the XUV300. One of the
biggest updates will be the panoramic sunroof, which will make it a first in the
segment. All the competitors offer a single-pane sunroof. The vehicle will sport
an all-new design and is expected to be offered.
On
the design front, the XUV 3XO will feature a completely redesigned front end,
with a revised bumper, new trapezoidal LED headlamps, flanked by DRLs, and an
all-new grille. Towards the rear, the vehicle will receive a connected
taillamp setup. Safety
is a key area of concern for many car buyers and Mahindra has
also joined the ‘five-star safety rated’ club. The XUV 3XO is expected to get 6
airbags, ESP, traction control, ISOFIX seat anchors and possibly, ADAS tech.
Other
features include a new 10.2-inch free-standing infotainment system, a 10.2-inch
digital console, AdrenoX-connected car tech,
remote dual-zone climate control, and projector LED headlamps amongst others. The Mahindra XUV
3XO will compete in a competitive segment that consists of the Tata Nexon,
Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue,
and Kia Sonet amongst others.
Amongst the competition, the XUV300 is the most powerful, which gets a 129bhp petrol
engine. The Mahindra XUV
3XO will be available with two engine options, a 1.2-litre 130PS petrol engine
and a 1.5-litre 117PS diesel engine.
Both are turbocharged units. On
the powertrain front, the vehicle is expected to retain its current crop of
engines which include a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor that produces 108 bhp and
200 Nm of torque and a 1.2-litre turbo GDi petrol motor churning out 128 bhp
and 230 Nm of torque. A 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine is also expected
to be on offer, making 115 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. Transmission choices
include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT.
The
primary competitor of the new XUV 3XO is the Tata Nexon, which also leads the
segment in terms of sales. The Nexon is available in multiple powertrain
options, including an all-electric version.
The Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh (BSEAP) on April 22 announced the Class 10 results.
This
year’s pass percentage has improved with 86.69% students cleared the exam. The
AP SSC Supplementary Exams will be held from May 24 to June 3.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.3 struck off southwestern Japan on Wednesday night, the US Geological Survey said, but there were no tsunami warnings or reports of damage. A magnitude 6.6 earthquake, measuring a lower 6 on Japan's seismic intensity scale, struck off the west coast of Shikoku island on Wednesday night striking at a depth of 39 kilometres, its epicentre was in the Bungo Channel, a strait separating the islands of Kyushu and Shikoku.
It left nine people with light injuries in Ehime, Kochi and Oita prefectures, authorities said Thursday morning. Minor damage in some areas, including broken water pipes, fallen streetlights and a landslide on a national roadway, has been reported, but no fires were reported in the quake's aftermath. No abnormalities have been detected at Shikoku Electric Power's Ikata nuclear power plant in Ehime Prefecture, according to the Nuclear Regulation Authority.
The Meteorological Agency initially reported the quake as magnitude 6.4 but later revised the figure to 6.6. Satoshi Harada, head of the agency's earthquake and tsunami monitoring division, said that this quake doesn’t meet the criteria for further study in that context, the agency will issue updates and convene expert panels as needed. The agency has advised residents of areas hit by the quake to be careful of seismic activity and heavy rainfall for the next week or so, as the risk of house collapses and landslides has increased in areas.
The quake has prompted anxieties regarding the possibility of an upcoming Nankai Trough earthquake, which typically occurs every 100-150 years, with the last one occurring 70 years ago. "This earthquake was caused by a fault shift within the plate, which is deeper than the boundary between the plates," Harada explained at the conference. Relatively large earthquakes have occurred in the past in the vicinity of the Bungo Channel, including an earthquake with a maximum intensity of upper 5 in Oita Prefecture in July 2015.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) said on
Thursday it has provisionally attached immovable and movable properties worth
Rs 97.79 crore belonging to Raj Kundra, businessman and actor Shilpa Shetty’s
husband, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in the Bitcoin
investment fraud case.
Kundra spent two months in Mumbai’s Arthur
Road jail in 2021 in connection with a pornography case. He was granted bail in
September 2021 by a metropolitan magistrate’s court in Mumbai.
ED’s latest action against Kundra is in
connection with the money laundering case which was filed against him based on
multiple FIRs registered by Maharashtra Police and Delhi Police against Variable Tech Pte Ltd, (late) Amit
Bhardwaj, Ajay Bhardwaj, Vivek Bhardwaj, Simpy Bhardwaj, Mahender Bhardwaj, and
several multiple level marketing (MLM) agents.
Allegedly, the couple is
under scrutiny in connection with a staggering Rs 6600 crore scam. The
FIRs alleged the accused had collected huge amounts of funds in the form of
Bitcoins (worth Rs 6,600 crore in 2017) from people with false promises of a 10
per cent per month return in the form of Bitcoins.
ED has taken strict action
by attaching properties belonging to Raj Kundra, valued at approximately Rs 98
crore. Among the seized assets are Shilpa Shetty's flat in Juhu and a bungalow
in Pune.
